Why wont my HP scanner printer work?

I have a HP5500 all in one printer scanner copier that has worked brilliantly for years. i have just uninstalled and reinstalled it, but now everything seems to work except the scanner, it states I need to download software....should this not be on the disc?Why wont my HP scanner printer work?

yes, it should have installed with the re-install. Try re-installing and do a custom install and make sure everything is selected.





All-In-One machines can be very problematic. maybe get yourself a cheap scaner and just use the HP for fax and print functions
do you have 2 disks for the printer, I have a 3 in 1 lexmark that requires 1 disk to install the printer and another disk to install the scanner

have you tried re-installing the disc to see if their was a glitch whilst you installed it ....

well it is expected to be in the disc as it worked good in past.the best solution is to get it set by the operator.call him up soon
