Does hp printer/copyer/scanner/fax all in one automatically distingiush a voice call from fax call?

i bought an hp all in one two days ago.and when i pluged it in with my phone line, it started answering all incoming phone calls, even voice calls. so i could get and voice call. and if i unpluged it i would be able, i could get any faxes. could you please help me to set it up so it can automatically recieve voice calls and faxes. and also i have an answering machine; i don't if thats the problemDoes hp printer/copyer/scanner/fax all in one automatically distingiush a voice call from fax call?
I use HP officejet 5600. On the fax setup wizard (run from hp solution center), select ';No, I use one line for both.'; for the question: ';Do you use different phone lines to receive fax calls and voice calls?';
