Since you don't say what your printer is I can't even offer tell you if Vista has drivers for it (part of Vista itself).
If there are no Vista Drivers for your printer, it will not work with Vista. Some people have had limited success with using the Add New Hardware Wizard and the XP drivers, but again the drivers have to be written for the hardware to work with the Operating System.
It may require that you purchase a new printer.
