Can you hook up a dell notebook to a hp printer?

Yes. If its USB supported it will probably take care of the drivers by itself with the ';wizard';. If not USB, plug it up, turn it on and install the driver software. The omponents don't have to be the same name brand. Think of it like this-you can put a Walmart light bulb in a GE light socket and it works fine. You can use Philips remotes on Sanyo TV's. Same principal here. It should be OK.Can you hook up a dell notebook to a hp printer?
sure can. just download the software for the printer. Can you hook up a dell notebook to a hp printer?
Yes, i did yesterday. As long as you have the apropriate drivers.
Sure for most printers.

You would have got the drivers along with the printer, or you could download it from the HP website depending on which operating system you use.

If both have a USB connection port or LPT1 ports. You're golden. If your notebook only has usb ports and the printer only has an LPT1 port. There isn't much you can do.
The only thing you'll need will be the correct drivers for the printer, a problem might be if the notebook is Vista and hp has not implemented drivers for it.
Yes, that is definitely possible.
Whoa, that's a coincidence, I just did that yesterday too. I bought my first Dell notebook 3 weeks ago and so I'm not all into the technology of the notebook yet but hooking it up to the printer was so easy. I also have an HP printer (All-In-One 1315). I was told to buy a small cable that hooks the notebook to the printer so I went to Wal-Mart and bought one for about $10. It was called the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable and on the front it indicated that you can connect the USB cable from your computer to printers, hubs, and external devices. As soon as I plugged in the printer to the laptop with the cable, the notebook itself installed the drivers needed and in about 2 minutes, it was able to print out documents without the need of downloading anything. I just plugged it in and the rest was done for me. I hope that wasn't confusing... hope it helps!

HP all in one printer/scanner/copier--does it scan to pdf format?

I am looking at a reasonably priced and reliable printer/scanner/copier. I would like the scanner to go to pdf format.

Does any one know if the HP series does that or have any other recommendations/suggestions??? thxHP all in one printer/scanner/copier--does it scan to pdf format?
Yes. You can scan documents to pdf format. HP Photosmart C6380 AiO printer is a good all in one but there others that may suit your needs better. However, if you want to scan to a searchable pdf file, you need some OCR software, (Usually included with the HP product)HP all in one printer/scanner/copier--does it scan to pdf format?
Yes HP does it . You can choose the HP G-3110 which also scans books or the HP G4010 which scans up to legal document. This one works very fast and actually using it to do most of my publishing.

My HP Lasserjet 4000 printer has stopped working. It seems like the signal is not getting to the printer.?

There are no jams and, and the computer is set up for the correct printer. The ready light comes on, but nothing happens when I click print at the computer. My HP Lasserjet 4000 printer has stopped working. It seems like the signal is not getting to the printer.?
Turn off your printer. Check your USB connection.

Then restart your PC and turn on your printer.

If USB device detected, it means your printer should be working but if not, check your USB port again. My HP Lasserjet 4000 printer has stopped working. It seems like the signal is not getting to the printer.?
Is it 4000 or 4000n? If it's 4000n, is it connected through a network (ie. ethernet cable)? If so, it's possible that the network card on the printer is dead. This happened recently to our Laserjet 4000n.

Anyway, if it's connected via USB or parallel port, then try what the above answerer said.

  • If i buy a hp photo printer in the us can i use it in the UK or Nigeria?

yes, however, you will need a power transformer. the us uses 110 volt power , the UK uses 220v and luckily the prongs are different. it you just use an adapter to make the prongs fit the holes, your printer will start smoking. you must buy a transformer to take the 220v down to 110v. i know from experience. very expensive experience.....If i buy a hp photo printer in the us can i use it in the UK or Nigeria?
I think so just make sure that it is dual voltage many computer components are. Ask the vendor and check the specs. on-lineIf i buy a hp photo printer in the us can i use it in the UK or Nigeria?
I don't see why not. Just make sure the power sources are compliant (voltage).

    Good luck!!
The only reason that you won't be able to is the input voltage. Many power supplies are auto-volt and will work on anything from 100 - 240 volts. Check that before you buy. You'll need an adaptor to connect it to the mains, or just replace the cord.
Actually, no, you need to look and check beyond the voltage.

Some printers are regionalized to work only with the specific region-ed cartridges.

You will need to check if that particular cartridge model number is available in stores in the UK/ Nigeria as in the US. If not, then after you finish using the first cartridges that come together with the box, you may not be able to find it in the stores for its replacement, unless you can continually travel or get folks to help you buy cartridges from US.

My Hp 2110 all in one printer is BROKEN, can anyone help?

When i turn it on it loads then starts to make a loud sort f clicking noise and eventually stops, but wont print anything! I dont know where to begin. Can anyone help?My Hp 2110 all in one printer is BROKEN, can anyone help?
One of the power on routines has the print head move to the far right until a sensor is tripped indicating that it is in print position 1. If that sensor is bad, jammed or is not registering with the controller board the heads will keep trying to move to the right causing the noise you hear. The routine will post a 'not ready to print' status and freeze up.

Someone needs to physically look into that area to determine the cause. My Hp 2110 all in one printer is BROKEN, can anyone help?
how about this... bring your cartridge to some shop that refills toner and have the cartridge examined...

if the cartridge is fine, there's probally something wrong with the printer itself

i hope i helped you begin with something
Mine does that when the printer cartridge is jammed. I have to open the printer and pull the cartridges out from the side. Then when I close the printer, it behaves for a while . . . .

Then again, it also makes a nasty noise when it's having trouble pulling the paper in. . . .
