Why does my HP printer say paper jam and there isn't any? It does this alot.?

There might have been a time when you tore a piece of paper trying to get it unjammed, leaving a small piece of paper still inside your machine. I'd suggest getting a flashlight and checking as best as you can for any traces of paper. If you can't find anything then check the sensor areas of your printer. The sensors are different for each printer but here is an example of what I'm talking about: When paper feeds through the printer it goes past a wheel that is pushed slightly up to let the computer know what stage the printer is at during the print job. Sometimes that wheel gets stuck and you'll need to unstick it or clean lint out from around it. You may need to carefully take apart your printer in order to get to it.

HP's website offers help troubleshooting these issues. That would actually be the best place to start. (See link below) If nothing there or my advice above helps, then call the service number on your manual and actually talk with a technician who works with these printers all the time. Try to get them to give you a new printer for free if they suggest replacing it. Tell them you'll probobaly switch to lexmark or epson since you saw them on sale when you were shopping the other day.Why does my HP printer say paper jam and there isn't any? It does this alot.?
id say have a look to see if there is dirt or if there is something blocking it.Why does my HP printer say paper jam and there isn't any? It does this alot.?
Hard reset your printer by unpluggin all the cables and wait for 2 minutes and connect back, if you still get the same error then you need to delete the pending jobs if any or restart the print spooler.
But I'd say check your supply of paper, it may not be feeding properly. Paper exposed to excessive moisture, or curled edges will cause this. You're not trying to re-use paper are you?
The error is a bit of a red herring. The most likely cause of the error is the paper not feeding. Clean/ replace the pickup/feed rollers and the problem should be resolved
