I have an hp officejet v40 all in one printer and the cartriges wont align.?

well, usually this problem is caused by one of two things...





1st possible cause - Not all the colors are printing correctly (cyan, magenta, yellow, black), hence it cannot allign itself since part of what its looking for isn't there. Check the allignment page that is printed. I think (I can't recall offhand) that the allignment page will have a green check mark on each line of print if it was successful in reading the page. Look for any lines missing a green check mark, or having a red x. If so, see if there is any color missing that you can tell. You should be able to identify cyan(blue), magenta(pink/red), yellow, and black colors. If you can't see one of these colors, then I would suggest replacing whichever cartridge is having problems (black or color)





2nd cause - There is on most HP units, a special sensor that looks at what the allignment pattern looks like after it prints. On these models, I have found that frequently, a small part has been broken off. The part in question looks like a little laser beam that comes out of the bottom of the carriage (the part that moves back and forth and shoots the ink onto the paper). When the allignment page prints, that laser shoots out and scans the printing to allign itself. The laser part is usually missing a piece of plastic, which is shaped like a lense to focus the beam. The 'lens' is typically sitting inside the printer and one of the tabs that hold it into place is broken, hence the lens falls out of place, the beam shoots out the bottom, but it isn't focused and the printer will not allign correctly.





I can't be positive you have either of these two problems, but these are the most common causes I have found for allignment problems on the HP multi-function printers.

Only if it a wireless printer. If so you can set it up to print wire free. You will probably need help to configure the settings though. When you install the program it ask's you if you are printing over a network or if it hooked up with a USB cable. Reinstall the program and make the changes in the set up to start with.

All HP printers have software and drivers to customize or calibrate the printers. After each cartridge is replaced, you should run the calibration settings as well as head cleaning and a test print before actual printing.Help! my hp printer printing out really bright!!! :S?
go to hp.com and click on chat/email support. tell them your issue and they will either give you new drivers or a whole new cartridge that is if you are using genuine HP inks.

Make sure there are not labels or stickers covering the ports of the cartridge. Some companies have a sticker covering the nozzles to prevent them from drying out or leaking.

Printer cartridges are of a universal shape and standard. There is no zone 1 or 2 thats for DVD as such.

The reason for this is because the ink inside dry's up and will make you'r printout's look like basically...****....so...this is the reason why you need to buy a new one. And also it can tell by the bar code...how many times it has been used and it knows ur ink could or is...dried up so it doesnt reprint!
I think they can, but the mechanism gets so worn out that they just are not reliably filled more than twice. Ive even hard HP cartridges crap out 1/2 way through the second refill.

If you are tying to devise a way to track printing, you might be able to make a script that printed to two printers at once, with one of the printers being a print to file printer, like pdf. A scanner is like a Xerox copier. I can scan something, (either words or a photo), and it can copy it and print out a copy or put it into an email. It can also do a special scan of words where it places the words on the paper being scanned into a Word document so you can edit it. Some of the programs are so poor, it would be easier to type everything in yourself.





So, I use my scanner to make a copy of an item placed on it. like the face of a pocket watch. I copy receipts so I have a copy myself when I mail in the original. I copy forms I've filled out. Anything I scan can be printed out or sent by email.
